Sherman Winfield

Creative Director Fitzco/McCann, USA

Sherman Winfield is a creative director at Fitzco/McCann, based in Atlanta. He has helped lead the agency to record financial growth while bringing in a steady flow of client results, creative awards and international recognition.

Sherman joined Fitzco in 2016 after honing his skills at agencies including Crispin Porter + Bogusky (Boulder), SS+K and McCann NY. His past client experience includes the likes of Domino’s, Best Buy, Kraft Mac & Cheese, Jell-O, Obama for America, State Street Global Advisors and New York Lottery. Currently at Fitzco, he helps run the Coca-Cola North America account, where as his first assignment, he turned a :30 radio brief into a national relaunch of Share A Coke. Instead of delivering a radio spot, the idea was to write a totally unique Coke jingle for every name on Coke bottles – over 1,000 of them. This year, the “1,000 Name Celebration” won six Cannes Lions, five pencils at One Show, including Gold and Best in Discipline, as well as major metal at Art Directors Club, D&AD, LIA and New York Festivals. It was named Best in Show at Radio Mercury Awards, was a People’s Voice Nominee at Webby’s and was named one of Ad Age’s Best of 2017 in Integrated/Interactive.

In the last year, he also led a pitch and won several brands from the McCormick Corporation, including the entire French’s portfolio. Their new French’s campaign broke on the 4th of July, touting the brand’s American food heritage with the new tagline “French’s. Not From France.”

He also pitched and won the shaving company Harry’s pride initiative, #AndProud, with provocative headlines in beautiful custom typography appearing all over New York and London, as well as For Coke and Delta, he created an exclusive lounge for a neglected class of passengers – The Middle Seat Lounge. He also brought home a Clio for their Quikrete’s “Long Story Short” radio campaign.

Sherman is also a part of the One Club Inclusion and Diversity Creative Bootcamp, held in Atlanta. He helps budding advertising students from prestigious HBCUs like Morehouse College and Spellman College compete and present work to brands like Coca-Cola and McCormick marketing leads for future initiatives. He champions diversity and is always first in line when opportunities arise to usher and mentor the industry’s up-and-comers.

Sherman, a native of Richmond, VA is also an avid sneaker collector. He has well over 100 pair of shoes, ranging from hard-to-find Nikes to the coveted Adidas Yeezy. Recently, he created a custom Air Jordan sneaker that payed homage to the “Crying Jordan” meme that caught the attention of every major sneaker and sports outlet, including Sports Illustrated, NY Times and ESPN. Outside of his affinity to sneaker culture, he enjoys slow-cooking on his offset barrel smoker “Gladys”, and cutting up on his turntables under the alias, “djshermski”.

He currently resides in Atlanta’s historic Grant Park neighborhood with his wife Christina, puppy Coltrane, and his newborn son Langston.
