Fabio Costa

Executive Creative Director, Saatchi & Saatchi, USA

One could say Fabio Costa’s career began at age 14. Going against the advice of his mother and grandmother, he freelanced as a reviewer for gaming magazines. Since then, Fabio has been combining his passion for pixels and deadlines to become one of the industry storytellers leaders.

Fabio began his advertising career in Brazil at Y&R. After a couple of years, he went to work at Almap BBDO, which, at the time, was regarded as Brazil’s most creative agency. While there, he helped the agency create its interactive department. Under Fabio’s direction, the agency set a new level of achievement winning numerous awards including a Grand Prix at the London International Awards and dozens of others awards including gold Lions (Cannes) and gold Pencils (One Show).

After almost a decade at BBDO Brazil, Fabio moved to Canada as a creative director for Blast Radius and created work for Nike, MINI and BMW Canada. After two brutal winters up north, it was time to head south. In San Francis- co he worked for TBWA\Cutwater and applied his story telling award winning perspective for such brands as Ubisoft, Ray Ban, The Walt Disney, Nvidia.

In 2010 Fabio packed his bags and moved to Paris, France to lead all global communication efforts for Louis Vuitton. He was credited for extending and adding an experiential story-telling component to the celebrities campaign, which came to life during the 2010 World Cup with the work done around Pele, Zidane and Maradona.

After an incredible European experience and, pretty much eating all the steak tar-tar one could find, it was time to come back to his adopted home: USA. At The Martin Agency he led its digital renaissance creating award winning work for GEICO, BF Goodrich, Mentos and the JFK Library Museum.

At TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles, Fabio was the global creative lead on Adidas and nationally on Net ix, Disney, Miller Lite and The Grammy’s. His was a pirate for almost 4 years and during that time he launched the most successful World Cup campaign to-date for Adidas, Miller Lite’s brand redesign and saw the cre- ative e orts being recognized at the D&AD, Cannes, The One Show, including a Grand Prix at Clios.

A new chapter began in 2016 when Fabio joined the Saatchi & Saatchi family.
